Thoughts from the Happy Hour
I had thought about all kinds of good things that I wanted to share here. However, that was before being invited by the host to a world-class rum tasting session. Other than that, I also remember a lively debate on the defense secretary’s view on cyberwar. Using a printout of Panetta’s speech that I stole from my unsuspecting host, I managed to get some of the ideas we discussed organized. I will try to write something good about all the beauty of the guest house next time, if we manage to keep down the rum sampling. 😉

Langner’s downfall. A staged recreation of the rum tasting range. (See the comment section for more.)

Sunday was quite an incredible day actually. Breakfast of fresh eggs and toast followed by conversation about risk management and control systems. Then lunch including the last of the fresh tomatoes from the garden. A nice long walk (90 minute loop on the monastery). The espresso and a conversation about cyber war.
After that Ralph went to check out a regional airport while I went to modern dance tech rehearsal. We had a great dinner of steak chinoise on the porch. And THEN came the rum.
Rums are in a range with the best on the middle: Havana Club Barrel Proof Anejo. On the Caribbean side Mt Gay Extra Old (the house rum) and 1703 (unobtainable). On the Central America side Zacapa 23 (ralph’s new favorite), pyrat XO (ralph’s previous favorite) and Flor de Cane 7 (a flyer).
